You are:

An IT Specialist II who thrives on ensuring technology is optimized for citizen experience and operation efficiencies. 

Your skills and knowledge include:

  • Competency in computer systems and capabilities.
  • Competency tin system design and analysis procedures.
  • Competency in using ticket and inventory systems.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Examples of work you may perform include:

  • Assembly, installation, and configuration of computer hardware and software.
  • Providing instruction to users on operation of computer hardware and software.
  • Providing initial diagnosis of computer hardware and software issues.
  • Removing viruses and malware from infected computers.
  • Maintaining computer inventory, ticket system, and complies with change management procedures.
  • Referring major hardware and software issues to higher-level technicians.
  • Checking system and application logs and observing system functions to verify correct operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Coordinating warranty repairs with hardware manufacturers.
  • Debugging and testing computer hardware and software.
  • Replacing or reinstalling defective, outdated, or inadequate software packages.
  • May assist with annual computer hardware inventory and hardware lifecycle tasks.
  • Performing related duties as required.

Specific Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits
    OR
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
