System Administrator I

Job Details: Job Location: Main 499 - Floresville, TX, Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Information Technology, Summary The System Administrator I will report directly to the IS Manager. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the structure and implementation of workstations, network printers, servers and switches. The above duties will include providing assistance to managers, physicians, staff and other business partners in the maintenance of information systems and assist in the implementation of new technologies that support the hospitals strategic plan. Telecommunication support, maintenance and troubleshooting of systems is also a requirement. Must be able to be on call Additional duties assigned as necessary.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   The successful candidate will be directly responsible for managing the technical & operational direction of all network and end-user projects. Advises and assists with budgeting for all IT projects and applications, including current and future infrastructure needs. Inspects personal computer equipment and reads order sheet listing user requirements to prepare microcomputer for delivery. Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises. Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer. Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems. Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals. Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems. Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.   Education and/or Experience College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   3+ years of network IT experience required. The candidate must be able to be on call.
