The IT System Administrator oversees the implementation and maintenance for the Virgin Hotel Collection’s IT Operational needs, ensuring its reliability, performance, and usability. This role involves managing technology assets, software compliance, and operational needs while also ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
This role will play an important part in guiding the deployment, maintenance, and oversight of technology for the business. In addition, they will assist in enhancing technology brand standards by offering property requests for revising or implementing new capabilities. Then, they will work with the properties to ensure they remain compliant with standards. This will be done by performing property visits, assisting with property budgets (P&L and Capital) and working with the home office regarding new capabilities being introduced into the properties.
Being the Virgin Hotels IT System Administrator also means you are assisting in best practices for IT staff on property and ensures that these practices are used throughout the business.

- Requirements Gathering: Meet with users and stakeholders to understand needs and problems.
- Analysis & Design: Analyze existing systems, identify gaps, and design new solutions or improvements, often using data modeling.
- Specification: Create detailed technical specifications for partners to assist with new systems or features.
- Collaboration: Work with stakeholders, partners, and the greater IT team to implement solutions and troubleshoot issues.
- Testing and Implementation: Lead or participate in testing (including integration testing) and oversee system deployment.
- Support and Training: Provide user training and create documentation for new systems and processes.
- Optimization: Maintain and enhance existing applications for better performance and efficiency.
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software, including servers, operating systems, and network components.
- Infrastructure Licensing: Understand, Define, and Execute on Licensing Procurement, Application, and Maintenance. Including but not limited to Operating Systems, User Licensing, Cloud Infrastructure Licensing, and Infrastructure Licensing.
- Infrastructure Specifications: Manage and Maintain current specifications and qualifications for all Infrastructure needs within the organization.
- System Monitoring: Monitor network and server performance, reviewing system logs to ensure integrity, availability, and optimal performance.
- Documentation: Document system configurations, policies, and procedures for technical and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the organization's IT assets, including servers, network hardware, and end user technology needs.
- Assist with Operational policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI-DSS.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring they adhere to requirements and provide timely support.
- Liaise with the Director of Cyber Security to best define business needs and promote a strong secure posture within the IT Department and the entire organization.
- Assist with Application needs and field support as needed.

Background must-have:
- Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- The role is open to U.S. based remote candidates, with a preference for Miami-based talent. Our Miami corporate office, located in Coconut Grove, operates on a hybrid work model.
- University degree in Information Technology OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is strongly preferred
- Experience in Hospitality IT Operations and/or Infrastructure is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of on-property hospitality technology and how they interact with each other is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of desktop computing environment in a hotel and/or resort is preferred
- Knowledge of hotel networking environment is preferred
- Able to travel as deemed necessary (national & international) is required
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, is required
