Location: Bakersfield, CA. (Hybrid)
Classification: Full-Time
This position is salaried exempt and will be paid on a salaried basis.
Schedule: Universal Healthcare MSO's standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Unless otherwise specified, all employees are expected to work their assigned schedules and remain available during these operational hours.

Compensation: The initial pay range for this position upon commencement of employment is projected to fall between $57.70 and $72.12. However, the offered base pay may be subject to adjustments based on various individualized factors, such as the candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Position Summary:
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's day-to-day information technology operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support services to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology solutions. This position manages IT systems, vendor relationships, technical support functions, and technology projects while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. The IT Manager collaborates with leadership to support business objectives and maintain technology systems that enable operational excellence throughout the organization.
Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Operations & Infrastructure
· Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and technology services.
· Coordinate and support IT initiatives, projects, system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
· Monitor the performance, reliability, and availability of technology systems and recommend improvements to support operational efficiency.
· Ensure ongoing maintenance and support of servers, networks, cloud environments, enterprise applications, and communication systems.
· Oversee the performance and availability of critical communication systems, including telecommunications, email, voicemail, and collaboration platforms.
· Coordinate technology deployments, upgrades, and system enhancements while minimizing disruption to business operations.
· Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations based on operational needs, efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
IT Support & Service Delivery
· Manage IT support services and ensure timely resolution of technical issues for employees and departments.
· Coordinate help desk activities and support processes to maintain high levels of customer service and end-user satisfaction.
· Establish service expectations and monitor performance to ensure technology support needs are met effectively.
· Collaborate with departments to identify technology needs and provide solutions that support operational objectives.
Leadership & Team Management
· Supervise IT staff, contracted resources, and vendor-supported personnel to ensure effective service delivery and accountability.
· Provide coaching, guidance, training, and performance management to assigned staff.
· Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service within the IT function.
· Assist in workforce planning, staff development, and resource allocation to meet organizational needs.
Information Security & Compliance
· Support the organization's information security program by implementing and maintaining appropriate security controls and practices.
· Ensure IT systems, processes, and technologies support compliance with HIPAA, CMS, HITRUST, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
· Maintain security policies, procedures, and technical safeguards designed to protect organizational information and protected health information (PHI).
· Participate in security risk assessments, audits, vulnerability remediation efforts, and compliance initiatives.
· Collaborate with Compliance, Privacy, and operational leaders to address technology-related compliance requirements and risks.
· Support ongoing HITRUST certification activities and ensure technology controls align with established standards and requirements.
Vendor & Contract Management
· Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
· Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations are met.
· Assist with evaluating vendor solutions, contract renewals, technology purchases, and procurement activities.
· Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings that may benefit the organization.
Project Management
· Coordinate IT projects and technology initiatives from planning through implementation and post-go-live support.
· Track project progress, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements.
· Facilitate communication between stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
· Support change management efforts and end-user adoption of new technologies and systems.
Budget & Financial Oversight
· Assist with the development and management of departmental budgets.
· Monitor technology expenditures and resource utilization to ensure efficient use of organizational resources.
· Support cost-benefit analyses and technology investment recommendations.
· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce technology-related costs.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
· Support the development, testing, and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
· Ensure systems and infrastructure are designed to support operational resilience and continuity of business operations.
· Coordinate technology recovery activities during system outages, disruptions, or emergency events.
Collaboration & Communication
· Partner with operational, clinical, compliance, and administrative departments to ensure technology solutions support organizational objectives.
· Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
· Promote collaboration and communication across departments to support successful technology adoption and utilization.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of five (5) years of progressive IT experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
· Experience supporting network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud environments, enterprise applications, and end-user support services.
· Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and information security best practices.
· Experience supporting organizations subject to HITRUST certification requirements preferred.
· Experience managing vendor relationships, technology procurement, and service agreements.
· Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or similar certifications are preferred
