We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and hands-on Systems Administrator to help support and improve IT operations across the state of Florida.
Position Summary
The Systems Administrator will support a broad range of IT operations, including end-user support, PC deployments, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, security tools, networking, VoIP phones, clinical application support, and infrastructure projects. This role requires a dependable, proactive, hands-on technical generalist who can assess problems, implement solutions, document work, and improve systems with limited supervision.
The candidate must be comfortable supporting basic end-user issues while also assisting with systems administration, endpoint management, network troubleshooting, security remediation, and infrastructure improvement. Some responsibilities will overlap with the Director of IT, and this position will work closely with the Director to maintain and improve the company’s technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- End-User Support and Helpdesk
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for employees across the organization.
- Respond to, document, and resolve support requests through Freshservice or other designated ticketing channels.
- Troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, phones, email, MFA, network connectivity, software, and application access issues.
- Support users remotely and onsite as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical users.
- Systems Administration and Endpoint Management
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID / Azure Active Directory, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, users, groups, licensing, mailboxes, MFA, and Conditional Access policies.
- Manage and support Microsoft Intune, device compliance, configuration profiles, security policies, application deployment, and Windows Autopilot.
- Assist with Azure administration, cloud-hosted systems, Azure Virtual Desktop, and related services as needed.
- Manage endpoint patching and software deployments through RMM tools on a weekly cadence.
- Support remote monitoring and management platforms such as ConnectWise, NinjaOne, or similar tools.
- Configure, deploy, replace, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, docks, monitors, peripherals, and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, phones, printers, network equipment, and other IT assets using Snipe-IT or similar platforms.
- Onboarding, Offboarding, and Access Management
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access changes, hardware preparation, and access removal.
- Coordinate with HR, managers, vendors, and department leads to ensure timely setup and removal of access.
- Security, Monitoring, and Compliance Support
- Support endpoint security tools, including EDR/XDR platforms such as SentinelOne or similar solutions.
- Assist with email security platforms such as Mimecast or similar tools.
- Assist with SIEM-related processes, security alert review, escalation, and remediation in coordination with the Director of IT and external security partners.
- Help enforce security best practices, including MFA, Conditional Access, patching, endpoint protection, device compliance, and least-privilege access.
- Assist with audits, compliance documentation, cybersecurity initiatives, and remediation efforts as needed.
- Networking, Phones, Clinical Systems, and Site Support
- Deploy, support, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, ISP connectivity, Fortinet firewalls, and Ubiquiti network equipment.
- Deploy, support, and troubleshoot VoIP phone systems, including extensions, call routing, desk phones, and softphones.
- Support Epic-based EMR, Citrix access, published applications, user sessions, and related clinical application issues.
- Assist with low-voltage wiring concepts, patch panels, cable tracing, terminations, and basic network closet organization.
- Provide onsite support for offices when remote troubleshooting is not sufficient.
- Assist with new office setups, moves, expansions, equipment replacements, and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and service providers to resolve technical issues.
- Documentation and Process Improvement
- Maintain clear documentation and proactively improve IT workflows, standards, automation, reliability, security, and user experience.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant IT experience.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel for onsite support within Central Florida.
- Must pass a mandatory drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare IT, multi-site environments, or MSP environments.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Relevant technical certifications preferred, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, ITIL, or similar certifications.
Travel Requirements
This is an in-person position based out of Port Richey, Florida, with regular field support throughout Central Florida, generally from Spring Hill to Sarasota. Occasional travel to other Florida locations, including Jacksonville, Fort Myers, or Fort Lauderdale, may be required.
Mileage will be reimbursed at the applicable IRS standard mileage rate, currently $0.725 per mile, and accommodations will be provided for approved overnight travel.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs., work in network closets, access equipment under desks or in confined spaces, use ladders to access wiring above drop ceilings, trace or terminate low-voltage cabling, and stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, grip, or handle equipment during onsite support and equipment deployments.
