Student Worker - IT Technician
The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - IT Technician at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Provide basic software, hardware and network support related to faculty, staff, classroom and lab computers. Assist students/faculty/staff with technical issues and questions.
Principal Accountabilities
- Configure wireless access and client email on mobile devices
- Install software and hardware
- Update and/or upgrade software
- Assist in lab computer configurations and imaging process
- setup or relocate computer related equipment as needed
- provide basic customer support for MS Windows, Office 365, Zoom and TEAMS - possibly some MacOS or Ios
- maintain an organized work environment including technician work area and computer storage rooms
- perform ceiling mounted projector maintenance (requires working on ladder 6ft - 12ft tall)
- assist in configuring mobile devices to Blinn's wireless networks
- perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Basic knowledge of Windows OS and the MS Office Suite.
Minimum Competencies
Ability to follow directions. Basic troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with both Windows and MAC OS software and computer peripheral installations. Experience with audio and video configuration used with Zoom, TEAMS or other conferencing programs. Good technical communication skills. Good organizational skills.
Preferred Competencies
Special Notes To Applicants
Must be able to lift and move objects (like computers / printers) and walk across campus to resolve issues.

The availability to work on Friday afternoons will be a noted consideration.
