Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule-- Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday - 8 am - 5 pm, Required to be on-call 1 week per month
Key Responsibilities:
Coaches, mentors, and trains new staff in their assigned duties in order to achieve a standard of excellence in the department.
Provides level III network support for Information Services & Technology customers.
Determines the need for, prepares, and gives demonstrations, and supports network hardware and communications software products to new and existing customers.
Provides networking design and implementation technical expertise to all members of the customer community.
Prepares network hardware and communications software configurations based on customer requirements with agreed upon time schedule using the network lab to emulate customer requests in a test environment.
Prepares customer cost estimates including initial purchase and lease costs, maintenance costs, supplied costs, as well as any other costs having an impact on either operating or capital budgets.
Performs installation, upgrading, and patching of all Technical Services supported network hardware and communications software products.
Provides preventive maintenance cleanings and inspections of network hardware.
Designs and develops the network and communication infrastructure by investigating the emerging technologies and providing expertise for feasibility of potential implementation.
Designs physical and logical network infrastructure transport mechanisms according to established protocols and building codes for new installations or modifications.
Monitors, evaluates, and recommends changes to new and existing network installations. Ensures network hardware and software standards are in compliance with existing and future network installations.
Assists the manager with the preparation and monitoring of the Networking Engineering budget.
Takes an active part in cost negotiations with network hardware, communications software, training, and maintenance vendors.
Provides expertise in ordering, inventory control, and return processes for components utilized by the Network Engineering team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
OR
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum 4 years previous computer networking experience which should include both local and wide area communications.

PAY RANGE:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00CITY:

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
