Full job details

The System Administrator/Help Desk Engineer will support the Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC) on-site in Quantico, VA. This position shall support the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoD IIS) network infrastructure.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct and assist Government personnel with installation, testing and sustainment of all network assets on the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoD IIS) on the JWICS based network;
  • Conduct and assist Government personnel with installation, testing and sustainment of the Open-Source Information Systems (OSIS) network provided through the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the MAGTF Regional Area Network (MRAN) network provided through MCB Quantico G-6;
  • Identify system problems due to system component connections and notify appropriate HQMC offices;
  • Conduct bi-weekly test and document components for communications architectures;
  • Conduct sustaining engineering support for the network systems;
  • Assist Government personnel with installation design, install new cabling, equipment, and associated hardware and software to extend and enhance network systems;
  • Assist Government personnel in administration of the network storage arrays and Email Archiving System;
  • Support the Microsoft Systems Update Server (SUS) and Systems Management Server (SMS);
  • Assist Government personnel with administration of the Command Storage Area Network Fiber Channel Routers and switches, and;
  • Operate and maintain network management systems to include primary and limited functional backup network operations centers and in-band/out-of-band network management systems.
  • Support the design, installation, testing and sustainment of the communication nodes, automated systems, and associated equipment.


Requirements

Required Experience/Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship required; Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge of network protocols, cybersecurity measures, and network management tools.
  • Candidate should meet specific requirements of Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II as set forth in DODD 8140: Juniper or CISCO certified network professional, or Extreme Networks Professional certification.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (but not required) plus 3 years’ work experience
  • Or an Associate's degree plus 4 years' work experience
  • Or 6 years' total related work experience
  • Experience in support of Marines
