About the Role

 

 

The Place is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and dependable entry‑level IT Technician Level I to join our Information Technology team. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or someone beginning their IT career who enjoys hands‑on work with technology and wants to gain real‑world experience supporting IT operations.

The IT Technician Level I supports the full lifecycle of IT equipment—including preparation, configuration, deployment, recovery, and refurbishment—while working closely with the Helpdesk Support Technician and IT leadership. Training and guidance will be provided to help the individual build technical skills, follow established processes, and grow within the IT organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Onboarding & Offboarding Support:

  • Assist with preparing technology equipment for new employees
  • Support employee offboarding by coordinating the return and processing of IT equipment
  • Help create and disable user accounts under IT guidance

Equipment Setup & Recovery:

  • Set up laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, and accessories using documented procedures
  • Retrieve, receive, and inspect returned equipment
  • Clean, reimage, and refurbish devices for reuse

Shipping & Logistics:

  • Package and ship equipment to employees and locations as needed
  • Track outbound and inbound shipments
  • Maintain basic shipping and asset records

Inventory & Asset Tracking:

  • Update and maintain IT inventory records
  • Assist with routine inventory audits
  • Label, organize, and store equipment appropriately

Required Qualifications:

  • Interest in IT support, hardware, and technology operations
  • Basic familiarity with computers, mobile devices, and common operating systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions, document work, and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and grow in an IT environment

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with inventory systems, spreadsheets, or ticketing systems
  • Basic understanding of user accounts and access management

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move, and package IT equipment
    • Ability to life and hold 25lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive setup and refurbishment tasks
  • Comfortable working in an office, storage, or staging environment
