About the Role

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable IT Technician to provide essential first-level support to our team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for installing, configuring, and maintaining our computers, software, and peripheral equipment. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys helping others and has a solid grasp of modern hardware and networking, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Support: Act as the first point of contact for help desk calls, resolving issues or escalating them to the next tier when necessary.
  • Hardware: Setup, repair, and replace PCs, printers, scanners, and other peripherals at various department locations.
  • Software: Install and configure Windows OS, Office 365, and other application updates.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve network connectivity, hardware malfunctions, and software glitches.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear records of technical issues and resolutions.

What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Education: High School diploma/GED plus an Associate’s degree in IT (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Help Desk or PC Technician.
  • Certification: CompTIA A+ or a similar industry-recognized certification.
  • Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows networks and general networking principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and walking long distances.
  • Comfortable working in a quiet-to-moderate office environment with occasional loud periods.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally throughout the County (and rarely out of state).

  • Retirement: Two defined benefit retirement plans (LAGERS and CERF) fully funded by the County, plus a deferred compensation match.
  • Health & Wellness: Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance options, including plans with no-premium options.
