About The Role
The Senior IT System Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, and day‑to‑day operation of the bank’s IT infrastructure across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands‑on operational work, including routine system administration tasks, while independently handling complex issues and supporting infrastructure improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud resources (compute, storage, networking).
- Monitor systems, networks, and cloud platforms to ensure availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and security incidents, including routine operational issues.
- Implement and maintain security controls (MFA, firewalls, endpoint protection, patching).
- Administer identity and access management (Active Directory, IAM, GPOs, DNS, DHCP).
- Manage backups, replication, and disaster recovery tasks, including regular validation.
- Support LAN/WAN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes following established procedures.
- Automate operational and maintenance tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Document configurations, procedures, and operational changes.
- Participate in infrastructure and security projects.
- Stay current with cybersecurity threats and infrastructure best practices.
- On-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Virtualization (VMware / Hyper‑V)
- Networking fundamentals
- Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or AWS.
- Solid understanding of security principles and IT compliance frameworks (ISO, HIPAA, GDPR – preferred).
- Comfortable performing both routine operational tasks and advanced troubleshooting independently.
- English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred.
- Experience performing similar duties in similar highly regulated industries is preferred.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Azure Administrator (AZ‑104)
- AWS Certification
- CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+
- CCNA or ITIL Foundation
