Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The IT Support Technician provides first-level technical assistance to employees, ensuring smooth and efficient use of systems, software, and hardware. This role supports daily operations by troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with basic system setups, and coordinating with higher-level support teams to maintain a productive and secure IT environment.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: THIS POSITION REPORTS TO IT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN - TEAM LEAD OR IT OPERATIONS MANAGER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Assist users with technical requests to ensure timely resolution of issues related to hardware, software, and user access.

• Prepare system setups including workstation configurations, user accounts, and application installations to support smooth employee onboarding.

• Respond promptly to service tickets, phone calls, and emails to maintain the expected service level agreements.

• Track open tickets and confirm issue resolution to ensure accountability and closure accuracy.

• Communicate technical solutions clearly and professionally to enhance user understanding and satisfaction.

• Collaborate with higher-level support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues effectively.

• Maintain local IT systems, including computers and printers, to minimize downtime and support operational continuity.

• Provide input on IT infrastructure planning to contribute to improvements within the local business unit.

• Reporting to IT Systems Technician - Team Lead or IT Operations Manager

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Required Experience

Education: Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted. Industry-recognized certifications from CompTIA and Microsoft are an asset.

Experience: 0–1 year of experience in system administration, IT infrastructure, or related fields.

Skills Required: Knowledge of common peripherals, Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 applications. Ability to explain technical solutions in non-technical terms and document issues accurately. Demonstrated troubleshooting and prioritization skills, along with strong written and verbal communication. PowerShell knowledge is an asset.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
