Job Description

Position: IT Support Technician

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina Department: General Administration

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt Supervisor Title: Director, Information Technology 

Role is responsible for Disaster Resource Group and DRG Technical Solutions information technology support across the company and all departments.  

The IT Support Technician role is responsible for providing operational and technical support to the IT department, end users, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT-related tasks, troubleshooting technical problems, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment.
  • Mailing of IT assets and equipment.
  • Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, chat, and in person
  • Troubleshoot and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Support network connectivity, VPN access, and remote workforce technology needs.
  • Responsible for coordination & management of office IT requirements, including new offices and modifications to existing offices.  
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Education, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support roles
  • Knowledge of networks, network technologies, and related terminology, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and common network protocols.
  • Working knowledge of information technology architecture and platforms, enterprise software applications, and managed services.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem to include Entra, Defender and Intune
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environment to include Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Soft skills include effective communication, teamwork, leadership, conflict management, critical thinking

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Physical Functions: Physical requirements involve performing general office activities. This role will be required to regularly stand, sit, and possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate technology and computer systems. The role will also frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, and will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.  

Working Environment: Normal climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise. Some travel may be required.
