An IT Network Administrator IV who thrives on supporting the network infrastructure critical to the flow of data and tech enabled operations.

  • Analyzing network activity and problems to discover and prevent systematic errors.
  • Assisting with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Designing and supporting VoIP infrastructure.
  • Designing, documenting, implementing, monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting problems in a mixed-vendor LAN/WAN network.
  • Documenting network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Ensuring planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
  • Managing large-sized projects according to budgets and schedules.
  • Monitoring network utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Performing network security design and integration.
  • Remaining current on emerging technologies.
  • Selecting, deploying, and using appropriate tools for reporting and routing of IP telephony traffic.
  • Overseeing new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Planning and implementing improvements, modifications, or replacement of network infrastructure components.
  • Designing, setting up, and configuring complex routing and switching environments.
  • Designing, setting up, and configuring complex wireless networking.
  • Documenting, tracking, and monitoring network problems.
  • Ensuring network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.
  • Evaluating and modifying network performance.
  • Maintaining thorough understanding of Internet basics (DNS, Security, IP Routing, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Maximizing network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating on optimization.
  • Monitoring and analyzing network performance issues and implement performance tuning.
  • Performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems.
  • Planning and monitoring installation of network systems.
  • Providing guidance to junior team members.
  • Providing advanced level network support and troubleshooting.
  • Serving as technical lead for small to medium network projects.
  • Securing network systems by enforcing security policies.
  • May coordinate with vendors and enforce change management procedures.
  • May supervise staff, assign work, review tasks, and ensure effective resolution of issues.

Specific Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
    OR
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration
    OR
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
