Position Overview

The Tier 1 System Administrator provides first-level technical support to hospital staff across clinical and administrative departments. This role ensures reliable access to systems, devices, and secure networks, supporting daily hospital operations in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to help desk tickets and service requests for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support staff with workstation setup, login assistance, and peripheral troubleshooting (e.g., badge readers, printers, scanners).
  • Assist with onboarding processes including account creation, access provisioning, and device configuration.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and perform basic diagnostics.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Tier 2 or specialized support teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of IT support experience; healthcare or hospital experience preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundation are desirable.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and hospital security protocols.
