JOB TITLE: System Administrator
DEPARTMENT: IT
SUPERVISOR: Senior Vice President of Information Technology
SUMMARY:
The System Administrator is a member of the IT team and is responsible for providing software and hardware support to users across multiple office locations. This role includes the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user devices, business applications, and IT systems. The System Administrator works closely with other members of the IT team to support network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, security initiatives, and technology projects. The position also assists with the implementation of new hardware, software, and security solutions while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the organizations, IT environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Skills:
- Strong experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting PC’s, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related hardware in a networked environment.
- Proficiency installing, configuring, and supporting software applications like Microsoft 365, Peachtree (Sage 50), security software, and Foxit.
- Knowledge of network setup, administration, and troubleshooting; experience with network administration is preferred.
- Experience with business wireless networking, network security, and related infrastructure.
- Experience with server administration, including patch management, monitoring, and backup processes.
- Experience managing software licensing, renewals, compliance, and patch levels.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for supporting remote and hybrid employees.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
- Excellent communication, customer services, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
DUTIES:
- Configure, install, maintain, and support PC’s, printers, phones, tablets, and other end-user equipment.
- Respond to and resolve user support requests and help-desk tickets.
- Perform Microsoft 365 administration, including user account management and troubleshooting.
- Support and maintain the company VoIP phone system.
- Track software licenses, subscriptions, and renewal schedules.
- Perform basic network administration and troubleshooting.
- Maintain, support, analyze, and document network infrastructure.
- Maintain and support connectivity between offices, data centers, remote users, and cloud-based services.
- Evaluate and recommend network upgrades and enhancements to meet business needs.
- Research, recommend, and implement new technologies, hardware, software and security solutions.
- Assist with server maintenance, backups, patch management, and security updates.
- Develop, document, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for users, systems, and network infrastructure.
- Conduct user training sessions and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Manage employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes, including account provisioning, access management, and equipment deployment and recovery.
- Support ongoing IT security initiatives and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of networking concepts & technologies, operating system technologies, security concepts.
- Systems knowledge, training/policy documentation and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage user systems, applications, and office productivity software, including maintaining, repairing, and upgrading desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and copiers; supporting Windows desktops and Microsoft Office applications; and installing vendor-critical and security patches and updates.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with several competing priorities.
- Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Cybersecurity knowledge, including security administration, access controls, data protection, and backup procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift, move and inspect computer terminals, servers, switches, routers, printers, and other related IT equipment.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
