The System Administrator has a wide range of responsibilities that include engaging with all levels of users to support all aspects of technology throughout the organization. This includes network infrastructure and security, mobile access and computing, backup and disaster recovery, virtual servers and desktops, IP telephones, general to advanced help desk support. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs systems maintenance tasks such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance to promote uptime and efficient performance.
• Acquires, installs, and tests system software upgrades and computer components.
• Configures software and resolves technical problems.
• Maintains documentation of IT infrastructure and problem solving procedures.
• Operates the firewall for the organization.
• Programs scripts to run internal functions.
• Responds to security threats and malware from company systems, as well as trace network failures and research possible solutions.
• Implements and maintains review of information technology inventory and replacement program including hardware, software, file servers, and network drives as needed.
• Performs other position related duties as assigned.
• Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Microsoft certifications preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve problems in stressful situations.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
• Skilled with designing networks, laying out the infrastructure for LANs, and resolving network outages.
• Knowledge of databases, networks and hardware and software upgrades.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a corporate environment.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Office and Citrix applications preferred.
