About the Role
Ciqima Federal Services is hiring a Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator plays a key role in the management and upkeep of information technology (IT) equipment and systems at Fort Gregg-Adams’ Kenner Army Health Clinic. As part of a larger support team, the Systems Administrator will centrally install, configure, and manage computer software, systems enhancements, as well as both physical and virtual IT components that provide hosting infrastructure and platform functions for Military Health System clients.
CLIENT: Military Health Systems (MHS) / Defense Health Agency (DHA) – Kenner Army Health Clinic Chief Information Officer (CIO)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Centrally install, configure computer software and maintain its integrity.
- Centrally implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Provide documentation for System Administration, as needed.
- Provide administration, configuration, and troubleshooting services in support of the locally hosted services.
- Maintain and manage the physical and virtual components that provide hosting infrastructure and platform functions.
- Provide recommendations in the most efficient ways to provision physical and virtual components.
- Support and manage the patching services and patch repository for all components.
- Provide administration, configuration, and troubleshooting services in support of the local operating environments.
- Manage, administer, and provision database environments for use in the local platforms.
- Provision compute and storage resources to meet customer requirements in a virtual multi-tenancy cloud and on premises environment.
- Administer centralized management tools to provision, license, configure, and monitor multiple operational systems across geographically separated units (GSU’s) with multiple customers.
- Provide enterprise solutions for load balancing, backup/restoral, and disaster recovery for the operating environment.
- Maintain a product lifecycle plan that accounts for multiple operating system versions, and critical compatible applications for each version and or system.
- Develop the baseline operating environment images to include the Operating System (OS) and embedded applications.
- Maintain the Information Assurance (IA) posture of the OS and applications in the images. Update the images per configuration management direction.
- Validate functionality and integrity of images prior to distribution.
- Distribute the images to the virtual desktop image hosting locations.
- Manage and maintain self-service provisioning, automation, and orchestration tools in an operational environment.
- Establish and maintain a system integrated test lab capable of supporting a full range of integration test activities for both the currently fielded IT shared services environment as well as maintenance/modernization releases.
- Centrally install, configure, administer, and monitor/maintain all KAHC Infrastructures and IT Shared Services Hosting Environments using government provided remote access and control tools.
- Centrally manage day-to-day operations of and administer all regional KAHC-hosted medical applications and systems.
- Centrally monitor operational status of the KAHC-hosted medical applications and systems, using government provided monitoring tools.
- Work with medical Program Management Offices (PMOs) to conduct server consolidation of existing medical information systems into the LCI or the KAHC or Region-owned IT shared services environment (where it exists).
- Maintain KAHC network connectivity.
- Manage installation of IT equipment, network devices, and peripheral devices.
- Develop and maintain metrics/reports for medical application downtime and customer support.
- Monitor, document, and track medical application and system problems and/or outages.
- Submit Situation Reports (SITREP) to the COR within 1 hour and a corrective action plan within 8 hours of system outage. Interfaces with KAHC Tier II personnel, as needed, to resolve medical application problems, which cannot be resolved remotely and require touch-labor.
- Provide Reach Back Support for KAHC Tier II support personnel, KAHC medical information services personnel, and other KAHC military/Contractor medical system administrators.
- Interface with Infrastructure team to resolve shared database problems affecting medical applications.
- Monitor dedicated medical application database and transaction log backups.
- Perform remote medical application, system, and database updates and maintenance.
- Provide On-Site maintenance, as directed by the COR, when problem resolution is beyond the capabilities of onsite Tier II personnel.
- Manage backup/restore of all KAHC-hosted servers, applications, and shared databases, per the Regional Healthcare IM/IT Data Backup and Restoral Plan.
- Create and maintain library of current scripts, server, and network configurations for KAHCs.
- Create and maintain library of current scripts and server and application configurations for each regional KAHC.
- Validate daily backups of all KAHC-hosted medical applications, associated data, and transaction logs per the specific medical application backup requirements.
- Establish and maintain on-call roster and procedures.
- Provide after hours on-call support for KAHC infrastructure and KAHC-hosted servers, applications, shared databases and KAHC or Region-owned IT Shared Services issues.
- Provide after hours on-call support for common KAHC-hosted applications, systems, and databases.
- Conduct facility visits, as directed by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for project implementations.
- Support Service-specific/Defense Health Agency deployments, upgrades or replacement of medical applications and servers as well as LCI and KAHC network infrastructure.
- Implement security policies for the KAHC network infrastructure and KAHC-hosted servers, applications, and shared databases, as well as any KAHC or Region-owned IT Shared Services Hosting Environment.
- Implement and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery program for the KAHC or Region-owned IT Shared Services Hosting environment (where one exists).
- Support KAHCs and medical PMOs with implementing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery programs for KAHC-hosted applications and servers.
- Support KAHCs and medical PMOs with implementing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery programs for KAHC-hosted applications, systems, and databases.
- Perform the following Information System Security functions for the KAHC-hosted medical applications/servers:
- Apply software updates, security patches and apply DISA STIGs.
- Execute as-needed vulnerability scans.
- Review regular and as-needed vulnerability scans and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Draft POAMs and submit to Regional ISSM Team for review/submission.
- Provide corrective action and diagnose problems through phone, electronic communication and in-person support.
- Provide technical support to end users on a variety computer, software, printer, web, and mobile device related issues.
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
- Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support.
- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution though the DHA approved ticketing system.
- Provide 1-2 tier support to end users for either Personal Computer (PC), server, or applications and hardware.
- Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
- Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Recommend systems modifications to reduce current and future user problems.
- Interact with the Trouble Ticketing system to document issues and resolutions.
- Provide support for Video Teleconferencing program.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Project Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Minimum one year experience as a Systems Administrator
- Background Investigation Tier 5 (SSBI), IAT Level 2 ADP/IT II
The position will be performed on-site and will generally encompass a standard workweek spanning Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
US Citizenship Required - Candidate will need to obtain a DoD Tier 5 (SSBI), IAT Level 2 ADP/IT II
