Take Your Networking Expertise to the Next Level with JMARK!
Are you an experienced Network Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building secure and reliable networks, and making a real impact on business operations?
JMARK is looking for a Network Engineer III to join our Tulsa team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work primarily with one of our large banking clients, supporting and improving the network infrastructure that keeps their business running.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys getting hands-on with advanced networking technologies, troubleshooting complex issues, and taking ownership of critical infrastructure in an environment where reliability, security, and performance matter.
While experience working in banking or financial services would certainly be beneficial, previous banking experience is not required. We're more interested in finding a talented engineer who understands complex network environments, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Network Engineer III, you'll serve as a senior technical resource responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, and improving complex network environments. You'll work closely with other JMARK engineers, technical teams, and client stakeholders to ensure network infrastructure is performing at its best.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Network Infrastructure Management: Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise network environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and other critical networking technologies.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions that improve reliability and performance.
- Network Security: Support and maintain secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, secure remote access, and network security best practices.
- Routing and Switching: Configure and troubleshoot advanced networking technologies, including VLANs, spanning tree, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
- Proactive Network Management: Monitor network health, identify potential issues before they become major problems, and recommend improvements to strengthen performance, security, and availability.
- Project Implementation: Participate in network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, deployments, migrations, and technology improvements from planning through implementation.
- Documentation and Collaboration: Maintain accurate technical documentation, communicate effectively with internal teams and client stakeholders, and ensure service activities are properly recorded.
- Technical Leadership: Share knowledge, mentor other engineers, and serve as a trusted technical resource when challenging networking issues arise.
- Client Experience: Provide professional, responsive support while translating technical challenges into practical solutions that support business operations.
- Critical Systems Support: Assist with resolving high-priority incidents and participate in an assigned on-call rotation to support business-critical systems.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive approach to managing network infrastructure.
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Approximately 3–5 years or more of relevant network engineering experience, or demonstrated equivalent technical expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, and network security.
- Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment or comparable enterprise networking technologies.
- Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Advanced understanding of VLANs, STP, network segmentation, TCP/IP, subnetting, and IPv4/IPv6.
- Experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, and secure network connectivity.
- Familiarity with Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or similar enterprise firewall platforms.
- Experience utilizing network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SSH, and other network management platforms.
- Understanding of network security principles, access controls, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network issues in environments where uptime and reliability are critical.
- Ability to document network configurations, technical solutions, and troubleshooting activities clearly and accurately.
Experience That Would Be a Plus:
- Previous experience supporting banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience supporting large, multisite enterprise networks.
- Familiarity with Cisco Firepower, FMC/FTD, or other next-generation firewall technologies.
- Experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
- Knowledge of network redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP, or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience working with network monitoring, security logging, or intrusion prevention technologies.
Beyond the Technical Skills
At JMARK, technical ability is important, but how you approach your work and interact with others matters just as much.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a natural problem solver who enjoys digging into challenging technical issues.
- Take ownership of problems and follow through until they're resolved.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Understand the importance of security, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Work independently while recognizing the value of teamwork and collaboration.
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Enjoy learning new technologies and continually expanding their technical expertise.
- Take pride in delivering an exceptional client experience.
