Interview Process: Two Rounds. Candidate needs to be prepared to go onsite for one or both interviews.

Employment Type: Contract (C2C / W2)
Experience Required: 12+ Years

Work Requirement: Candidates must reside in SC, NC, or GA and be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood, SC before the start date (at own expense)
Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week + potential on-call (after hours/weekends)
Travel: Required to field offices during work hours
Additional Requirement: Valid driver’s license required

Project Scope:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support a statewide enterprise network infrastructure and serve as a key technical resource within a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.

This role involves managing complex network environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and security compliance, and providing advanced troubleshooting and support with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration & Support

• Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure components
  
• Manage and support routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  
• Maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations
  
• Provide day-to-day operational support for enterprise network systems
  

Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization

• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues and outages
  
• Monitor network performance and ensure optimal connectivity
  
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain network security best practices
  
• Ensure systems are compliant with security standards and policies
  
• Support firewall configurations and threat detection tools
  

Network Design & Implementation

• Support network architecture design, configuration, and enhancements
  
• Work on routing, switching, and voice-integrated network environments
  
• Assist with upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
  

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with cross-functional technical teams
  
• Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to team members
  
• Support multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  

Technical Environment:

Networking: Cisco (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)

Security: Palo Alto firewalls, XDR

Additional technologies: Wireless networks, monitoring tools, hybrid cloud environments

Required Skills & Experience:

?        10+ years of experience with:

?        Cisco firewalls

?        Cisco routers and switches

?        Cisco VPN and network administration

?        5+ years of experience with:

?        Palo Alto firewalls

?        Palo Alto XDR

?        Strong expertise in network troubleshooting, routing, and switching

Preferred Skills:

?        10+ years of experience with Experience with network monitoring and tracing tools

?        10+ years of experience with Strong knowledge of core network architecture

?        10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching

?        4+ years of experience with Experience with wireless networks

?        3+ years of experience with Exposure to hybrid cloud infrastructure

Certification:

CCNA & CCNP
