Build the Future of U.S. Rocket Motor Manufacturing

Nammo Energetics Inc. (NEI) is responsible for the establishment of a new solid rocket motor manufacturing facility in Perry, Florida. NEI oversees the design, construction, qualification, and staffing of this next-generation facility supporting critical defense programs.

At NEI, we’re looking for a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to help develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System supporting startup operations and long-term manufacturing excellence. This is more than a traditional quality role — it’s an opportunity to build quality systems from the ground up in a high-visibility manufacturing environment supporting mission-critical products.

You must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

What You’ll Do: Precision in Action

Develop & Lead Quality Systems

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with AS9100 and company requirements
  • Lead quality system and process development activities supporting startup and operational readiness
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and controlled documentation
  • Support document control, revision management, change control, and configuration management activities
  • Assist with inspection plans, quality standards, acceptance criteria, and manufacturing controls

Drive Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audit preparation activities
  • Drive root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Analyze quality metrics, trends, and process data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce risk
  • Support nonconformance management activities including documentation, investigation, containment, and resolution tracking
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization

Support Manufacturing Readiness & Growth

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support manufacturing readiness and implementation activities
  • Collaborate with Nammo Perry and Nammo Raufoss quality teams to align standards and best practices across the enterprise
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and process improvements
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams supporting facility startup and production readiness
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards, customer expectations, and emerging quality best practices

What Dedicated Teammates Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, quality systems, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing and improving quality processes and systems
  • Strong organizational, project management, and documentation skills
  • Experience with process validation, risk mitigation, and manufacturing readiness activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup or growth-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP/MRP or quality management systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting AS9100 or ISO-compliant quality systems
  • Aerospace, defense, energetics, propellant, or rocket motor manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting startup facilities or greenfield manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action systems
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation
  • Internal auditing or supplier quality experience preferred

  • Must be able to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout manufacturing facilities for extended periods
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to work in environments with exposure to noise, fumes, dust, and varying temperatures within OSHA standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Must possess adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities, with or without reasonable accommodation
