We have a wonderful opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a first shift, onsite role at our facility in Ridgway, PA. 


The Quality Assurance Engineer leads product and process improvements, ensuring conformance to technical and quality requirements and analyzes and reports performance; Develops, implements, and maintains procedures and documentation for the company's quality system; Participates in regulatory, customer, vendor and internal system and process audits to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and technical standards and specifications; Participates in quality planning and implementation; Performs other responsibilities, projects and tasks as directed by the Technical Operations Manager.

 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. However, the job involves overseeing, auditing, and coaching the organization’s technicians, analysts, and other lab personnel for quality compliance and process conformance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze testing and calibration procedures and processes, identify deficiencies, and suggest solutions to satisfy regulatory agencies, technical standards, and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with the Customer Order Entry/Contract Review Teams and the laboratory personnel to ensure effective execution of projects
  • Identify, collect and evaluate trend data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain and continually improve system and process quality
  • Prepare and present key performance metrics and reports to management and departments
  • Lead or support Root Cause and Corrective Action activities
  • Develop and implement process controls to solve systematic issues and improve efficiency
  • Perform compliance gap assessments
  • Identify and analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Create and maintain control plans and inspection methods to ensure product and process specifications are met
  • Approve and publish:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SOP revisions
    • Quality Manuals
    • Quality Procedures
  • Support New Test Method introduction and validation activities, including validation of process changes and verification of test specifications
  • Participate in customer and internal system and process audits
  • Assist management in achieving and maintaining various accreditations (Nadcap, A2LA 17025, etc.)
  • Ensure that Internal Round Robin (IRR) and Proficiency Testing (PT) is scheduled, performed, and results analyzed with corrective action taken when required, in accordance with Nadcap, A2LA, ISO/IEC 17043, etc. requirements
  • Train employees on quality-related topics
  • Perform other duties and coordinates special tasks or projects, as directed by management

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in engineering, quality, industrial, or relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
  • 3+ years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, ERP systems, and LIMS 
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 QMS or ISO 17025
  • Must meets citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies

This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
