A Brief Overview
This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, fully testing and managing our company's network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team of network engineers ranging in experience and expertise. Leadership will be required in areas including prioritization, escalations, high-profile troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network design, security, and performance optimization.
What you will do
- Design and implement network solutions to meet cross-functional business requirements.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including wireless access points, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Advise a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree In computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Required
- 10+ years experience in network engineering. Required
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly Preferred
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching. (High proficiency)
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. (Medium proficiency)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills. (High proficiency)
- Superior troubleshooting and investigatory skills with a strong sense of urgency in high-profile outage situations. (High proficiency)
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, FCOE and FC environments (High proficiency)
- Ability to implement & deliver complex technical projects within a defined schedule covering LAN, WAN, Wireless, 4/5G, SD-WAN, VPNs, NAC, and Zero Trust (High proficiency)
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, and other core networking hardware. (Medium proficiency)
- Expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. (Medium proficiency)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. (High proficiency)
- Proficiency in network performance tuning and optimization. (Medium proficiency)
- Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies. (Medium proficiency)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. (High proficiency)
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills. (High proficiency)
- Experience with network security technologies and best practices. (Medium proficiency)

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite #LI-MH1
