About the Role
Position Summary
The IT Logistics Support Technician provides hands-on support to the IT Operations team by preparing, imaging, shipping, and processing a wide range of IT hardware. This includes PCs, printers, network switches, phones, UPS units, and related equipment moving between the warehouse and retail locations.
This role requires strong attention to detail, basic technical aptitude, and the ability to follow help desk tickets to ensure timely fulfillment, accurate asset tracking, and proper handling of equipment throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review help desk tickets to identify inventory requests, deployments, and returns
- Pick and stage equipment from inventory based on ticket requirements
- Determine appropriate shipping methods based on urgency, business impact, and cost efficiency
- Prepare PCs for deployment by:
- Unboxing and transporting to imaging stations
- Installing standard operating system images
- Repackaging and labeling for shipment
- Package and label all IT equipment in accordance with carrier and company guidelines
- Process returned equipment by:
- Recovering data from hard drives when required
- Removing and staging hard drives and memory from non-recovery devices
- Sorting and disposing of end-of-life electronics in designated recycling areas
- Update ticket statuses and maintain accurate asset records in the help desk system
- Assist with basic technical troubleshooting through the help desk platform under supervision
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of IT hardware, including PCs, printers, network switches, phones, and UPS devices
- Experience using or ability to quickly learn help desk ticketing systems for asset tracking and logistics
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions, particularly for device imaging and handling sensitive components
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Willingness to work approximately 10–15% of the time in a non–climate-controlled warehouse environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for documenting ticket updates
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in IT logistics, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or technical support
- Familiarity with imaging tools such as SCCM, MDT, or similar deployment systems
- Basic understanding of data recovery processes and secure handling of storage devices
Working Conditions
This position operates in both office and warehouse environments. Approximately 10–15% of time will be spent in a non–climate-controlled warehouse. The role may involve moderate noise levels and repetitive physical tasks associated with packing, shipping, and equipment handling.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping
- Ability to lift, carry, and position items up to 40 pounds
- Use of ladders or step stools for accessing inventory on high shelves
- Manual dexterity to safely handle small and sensitive electronic components
