We're looking for an IT Support Specialist to keep our team's technology running. You'll be the main contact for employees who have IT problems, and you'll fix issues as they come up so people can get back to work. This is an internal role, so you'll support our own staff, not outside customers.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve employee IT requests, in person or remotely
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity problems
- Set up, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers, phones and other devices
- Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions and access, including onboarding and offboarding
- Install, update and patch operating systems and business software
- Support email, collaboration tools and cloud applications such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Keep hardware, software licenses and IT assets tracked and up to date
- Document common issues and fixes, and write simple how-to guides for staff
- Work with outside vendors or managed service providers when an issue needs escalating
- Follow basic security practices and help staff avoid risks like phishing
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support, help desk or a similar role
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS, plus common business software
- Basic understanding of networking (Wi-Fi, routers, VPNs, DNS)
- Strong problem-solving skills and patience when working with non-technical users
- Clear communication, both written and verbal
- Able to manage several requests at once and prioritize urgent issues
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft 365 are a plus
