IT Support Intern (Paid)

  • Location: Hybrid - Remote and On-site (Melbourne, FL — must be located in or near Brevard County, FL)
  • Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours
  • Pay: $15-$20/hour, Depending on Experience

About the Role

We're hiring a paid IT Support Intern to help run the hands-on side of our MSP operations. You'll sanitize and image equipment, prep and configure devices, get them shipped out to customers accurately and on time, and help field first-line helpdesk tickets as they come in.

This is an entry point into a real IT career. You'll learn how devices move through their full lifecycle - from intake and secure wipe to imaging, quality check, and deployment - while building the troubleshooting and documentation habits that good technicians rely on. You'll work closely with our support team, who are there to teach, review your work, and help you grow.

We're looking for someone reliable and detail-oriented who follows a process without being chased and asks questions instead of guessing. No deep experience required - just solid fundamentals, care with hardware and data, and a genuine willingness to learn.

What You'll Do

  • Sanitize and securely wipe returned or repurposed equipment following documented procedures
  • Image, configure, and quality-check devices to spec before they ship
  • Package, label, and ship configured equipment to customers, and process returns
  • Field and triage first-line helpdesk tickets, resolving what you can and escalating the rest with clear notes
  • Maintain accurate asset records, chain-of-custody documentation, and stock levels
  • Follow SOPs, keep the bench moving, and flag issues early rather than working around them

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable and detail-oriented, with genuine care in handling hardware and data
  • Basic technical aptitude — comfortable navigating Windows and common software
  • Clear written communication and solid note-taking habits
  • Follows process consistently and asks questions instead of guessing
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn the trade
  • Able to lift and move equipment (up to ~40 lbs) and work on-site
  • Located in or near Brevard County, Florida

Technical Skills (familiarity helpful, willingness to learn required)

  • Microsoft Windows — setup and basic troubleshooting
  • Microsoft 365 / Office suite
  • PC hardware fundamentals
  • Device imaging / MDM tools (e.g., Windows Autopilot) — exposure a plus
  • Helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management) — exposure a plus
  • Basic networking concepts

Nice to Have

  • CompTIA A+ (or in progress) or related coursework/certifications
  • Prior helpdesk, computer repair, or bench experience
  • Exposure to imaging, MDM, or Microsoft 365 administration
  • Interest in data security, sanitization, and compliance practices

Compensation & Benefits

This is a paid internship designed as a launchpad into an IT career, with hands-on mentorship and a clear path toward IT Support Specialist roles. We offer:

  • Flex-time scheduling that works around school
  • Certification reimbursement (e.g., CompTIA A+)
  • Professional development mentorship from experienced technicians
