About the Role

JOB DEFINITION:

The role of an IT Support Assistant will be a combination of hands-on computer work and the administrative support that a large network requires. This position will assist the Network Administrator in the installation and general support of computer desktops, programs and system upgrades. In addition, they will also assist in the maintenance of equipment and staff databases, support of different tracking programs and working with vendors and staff in order to achieve optimal functionality of the network.

 

This is a full-time, 35 hours/week 9-5 position. However, candidate must have flexibility to work some nights or weekends when network projects require it. Candidates must have their own car as travel to different sites may be required. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS accepted rate.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree or two-five years' computer/LAN or IT Assistant experience required.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A+ Certificate and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in the installation and general support of computer desktops, laptops, WYSE terminals, printers, scanners, etc. Will assist end-users with questions or problems - either in person or remotely. Familiarity with standard IT concepts, practices and procedures. Will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Will work under Network Administrator. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  2. Assist the Network Administrator in assessing and making recommendations on current status of agency technology, including desktops, Wyse terminals, monitors and printers.
  3. Assist in maintaining and managing WASP - the agency's asset inventory management solution database designed to keep track of computer equipment and staff assignment to the telecommunications system by ensuring that all computer and telephone equipment is tagged and labeled with proper funding source.
  4. Set up and troubleshoot PC hardware and software.
  5. Set up and troubleshoot mobile cellular devices, including tablets and other smart devices. Familiarity with Cisco IP phones is a plus.
  6. Add/delete user accounts on various computer systems with direction.
  7. Assist in maintaining and managing Maas360 - the agency mobile device as set management solution. Add/delete accounts, reset device passwords and maintain GPS tracking of mobile units.
  8. Ad-Hoc requests such as arranging conference room bookings, IT equipment and supply procurement, set up meetings, video conferences and conference calls.
  9. Respond to and document end user support questions.
  10. Orient new employees to IT procedures and use of computer and telephone systems.
  11. Must be able to document and maintain IT helpdesk solutions and "How to" procedures.
  12. Set up and train new staff on voicemail and email systems.
  13. Train and update staff on use of computer hardware and programs.
  14. Identify and implement quality improvement trainings and activities as part of professional development goals
  15. Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.
