Location: Surprise, AZ

Pay: $38.50/hr.

*Pay rates listed reflect the full rate for this position, including both the base pay and health and welfare benefits in accordance with applicable requirements. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS


Position Overview: In this role, you will support the detention facility’s information technology operations by maintaining computer systems, network infrastructure, communication equipment, security systems, and operational technology used throughout the detention facility. You will provide technical support to facility personnel, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain system functionality, and ensure IT operations remain secure, reliable, and compliant with facility policies and operational requirements. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a secure detention environment while supporting mission-critical systems and operational continuity.


Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, printers, network devices, communication equipment, and operational technology used throughout the detention facility.
  • Provide technical support to facility personnel regarding hardware issues, software functionality, network connectivity, user access problems, and system performance concerns.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, internet connectivity, wireless systems, security systems, and operational communication platforms to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Assist with maintaining surveillance systems, electronic access control systems, radio communications equipment, and other operational security technologies as assigned.
  • Perform system updates, software installations, account management, password resets, data backups, and preventative maintenance activities on facility IT equipment.
  • Respond to IT service requests, system outages, technical emergencies, and operational technology concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to system configurations, inventory records, maintenance activities, user support requests, and equipment accountability.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, telecommunications providers, and facility leadership regarding technical support services and system maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all IT operations comply with company policies, cybersecurity requirements, operational security procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and operational assessments related to information technology systems and facility operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels for IT equipment, replacement parts, cables, software licenses, and operational technology supplies while coordinating procurement requests as necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, strong technical skills, and effective communication while supporting safe and efficient detention facility operations.


Qualifications:

  • Must possess three (3) years of experience in a helpdesk, desktop support, or junior systems administrator role.
  • Must possess a valid CompTIA A+ Certification or similar IT credential.
  • Preferred CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Must possess proficiency across the entire foundational tech stack, including desktop operating systems (Windows/macOS), basic networking (routers, switches, Wi-Fi), identity management (Active Directory/Entra ID), and cloud suites (Microsoft 365/Google Workspace), to independently troubleshoot and maintain an organization's day-to-day infrastructure.
  • Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
  • If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
  • Must consent to fingerprinting.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.


Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
