About the Role
Description
Position: Fully onsite at our Port Washington, WI facility
Reports to: Director of Global IT
The IT Specialist is responsible for providing Level II technical support, supporting and improving network and server environments, and contributing to IT projects that enhance system performance, security, and reliability across a growing global manufacturing company. This role builds on foundational IT experience and requires the ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Help Desk & End User Support
- Provide Level II support for escalated IT issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Support PCs, peripherals, operating systems, and business applications with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and system support.
- Document incidents, resolutions, trends, and recommendations within the ticketing system.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including access provisioning, equipment setup, and user training.
Network & Server Monitoring and Improvement
- Monitor network, server, and system performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and security.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network and server issues; escalate appropriately when required.
- Assist with server maintenance activities including patching, updates, backups, and performance optimization.
- Support network infrastructure improvements under the direction of the Director of Global IT.
- Assist with documentation and standardization of network and server configurations.
Cybersecurity Support
- Monitor endpoint protection, antivirus, and system security alerts and respond to incidents as needed.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation, access controls, and security best practices.
- Support cybersecurity documentation, audits, and compliance efforts.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness through user support and guidance.
IT Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Actively contribute to IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, and application deployments.
- Assist with asset management, inventory tracking, and lifecycle planning.
- Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, system performance, and user experience.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with users at all levels.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned as the IT function continues to grow.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–4 years of progressive IT support experience, including Level II Help Desk responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, server environments, and system monitoring. Cisco router and switch experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex technical issues independently.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, document work thoroughly, and follow established standards and procedures.
- Experience supporting Windows environments, Microsoft 365. VMWare support preferred.
- Cybersecurity experience include support of MDR, EDR, or XDR systems.
- Exposure to MS server administration such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policy, file and print applications, network monitoring tools, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or multi-site environment preferred.
- Familiarity with IT documentation, asset management, and compliance requirements.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
- This is a primarily sedentary position involving long periods of sitting and working on a computer in a climate-controlled environment. Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk, talk, or hear. Uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.
- Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to gather and input job information on a computer. Moderate to advanced skills in Excel, ERP systems, and fixed asset software required.
- Reading and comprehension. Ability to interpret and analyze data from company generated, industry, and financial reports. Evaluate and analyze international currency data.
- Responsibilities require the ability to complete moderately complex mathematical computations, budgeting, financial closures, forecasting, and foreign currency conversions.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Fully onsite position in our Port Washington, WI facility.
- Computer/sedentary position.
- Intermittently will have to go onto the production floor resulting in exposure to loud noises, sparks, fumes, chemicals, and heavy equipment.
- Position will mainly be in a temperature control office space.
- May lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds on rare occasion.
