We are seeking a diligent and skilled IT Specialist to join our team and manage our internal technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver responsible for maintaining our IT systems and providing reliable technical support to our staff, ensuring our operations run efficiently and securely. This role is crucial for supporting our consultants in the field and enabling the data-driven work that underpins our client services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all office IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, computer hardware, and software.
- Provide timely and effective technical support to all employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, peripherals, and company-specific applications.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company security policies.
- Implement and manage data backup, disaster recovery, and security protocols to protect sensitive company and client information.
- Monitor system performance and network integrity to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Assist with the procurement of new IT equipment and software, managing inventory and asset documentation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies for internal use.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an IT Specialist, IT Technician, or in a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software systems, networks (LAN, WAN), and security best practices.
- Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical issues.
- Proficiency with various operating systems, primarily Windows environments, and office software suites (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified are highly advantageous.
- A self-motivated individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
