About the Role
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT infrastructure solutions across a multi-organization environment. This role ensures the integrity, security, and performance of systems and applications in alignment with both short- and long-term business objectives. The position collaborates closely with Information Security and IT teams to support strategic initiatives, manage risk, and deliver exceptional internal customer service. Key responsibilities include leading infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise, and fostering knowledge transfer to support teams. The Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining compliance, optimizing system availability, and driving innovation within the organization’s technology landscape.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level server, network, and storage solutions to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Plan, execute, and validate server upgrades and migration strategies with minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, industry regulations, and vendor-specific requirements for all infrastructure components.
- Maintain high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and system performance across core platforms.
- Administer and manage hardware infrastructure (e.g., VxRail) and virtualization environments (e.g., VMware).
- Lead and contribute to strategic and tactical infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project objectives.
- Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to diagnose and resolve system issues, driving root cause analysis and effective solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide critical support for infrastructure systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, security practices, and industry trends through continuous learning and certification.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures to support risk management, compliance, and operational integrity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or Associate’s degree with five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of five years’ experience managing server operating systems, primarily within virtualized Microsoft Windows environments; Linux administration or certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and related protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) architecture; Azure certifications are highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, banking) is advantageous.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
