Position Overview
The State of Mississippi is seeking a Client Support Technician to provide on-site and remote end-user IT support for the MDAH network. The technician will troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and user-access issues while supporting workstations, mobile devices, printers, and Microsoft environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
- Troubleshoot and repair desktop PCs, laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and update Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Respond to help desk requests through phone, chat, and in-person support.
- Log, track, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using ticketing systems.
- Set up new workstations and support employee onboarding/offboarding.
- Create user accounts and manage appropriate permissions/access.
- Support Azure/Active Directory environments.
- Maintain hardware, software license, and IT supply inventory records.
- Troubleshoot basic DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and networking issues.
- Escalate complex or network-wide issues to senior system/network administrators.
- Provide excellent customer service with patience, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
Required Skills
- 3+ years Windows 11 experience.
- 3+ years desktop/notebook support experience.
- 3+ years printer support experience.
- 3+ years wireless device support experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Help desk/service desk and ticketing system experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work 100% onsite from Day 1.
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years Azure/Active Directory experience.
- 3+ years PowerShell experience.
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- CompTIA Network+ certification.
- Microsoft certifications/credentials.
- Experience with endpoint security and mobile device management.
