About the role:
The Test Engineer is responsible for determining how to best test Ascom products and offerings as part of implementation within a Development Launch project. With testing, Ascom assures that products meet applicable specifications. The Test Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by our developers fits its purpose.
What we need you to do:
Perform tasks with integration and verification of Ascom products/systems within Projects.
Closely collaborate with developers, and other project members within Global R&D.
Create test cases (manual and automatic) for verification activities; perform tests, to ensure that the design and development outputs meet the input requirements.
The Test Engineer is responsible for planning, implementation, execution, reporting as well as for documentation of the defined test activities according to Ascom processes.
Ensure high-quality and compliance with regulatory applicable standards for example (ISO development, environmental, health and safety and other applicable): this is with regards to products being tested as well as with regards to own work behavior (e.g. applying safety regulations when working with electrical equipment).
Identify and share improvement opportunities in the test processes.
Report found defects in test objects in our defect tracking system.
Report progress and test result.
What You Bring:
Bachelors degree in IT, Software Engineering or relevant experience in similar field (3-5 years' experience).
1-2 years experience from agile development and fast paced environments.
1-2 years experience with ISTQB Foundation or similar testing methodology.
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise with test equipment, test engineering, and software testing methodology.
Experience with Test Planning, Software Testing and Test Automation.
Strong ability to understand Ascom's product, offerings and solution and their technical features, benefits and use cases.
