A day in the life:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineer to support the verification, validation, and continuous improvement of mission-critical geospatial applications and Java-based microservices that enable advanced mission capabilities. This role plays an integral part in ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of complex software systems through comprehensive testing across the software development lifecycle.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and execute both automated and manual test strategies.
- Design and maintain scalable test frameworks using Python, and validate complex geospatial analysis and visualization capabilities.
- Work closely with software developers and system engineers to identify defects, drive quality improvements, and ensure software meets mission and user requirements prior to deployment.
- Support performance validation, regression testing, and integration of automated testing into modern CI/CD pipelines, helping to deliver resilient, high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative DevSecOps environment.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Four (4) additional years of Test Engineer experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Two (2)+ years of relevant experience supporting software testing efforts on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Strong proficiency in Python for developing automated test frameworks, test scripts, and CI/CD test integration.
- Experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test plans, test cases, and regression test suites.
- Experience testing Java applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience validating complex geospatial applications, analysis, and visualization capabilities.
- Experience with software testing methodologies, quality assurance best practices, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience performing performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
- Experience creating and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Experience collaborating with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph level of security clearance.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience testing geospatial applications and enterprise GIS solutions.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, or equivalent.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
- Experience using issue tracking and defect management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Knowledge of geospatial techniques, analysis, and visualization concepts.
- Ability to lead or mentor junior Test Engineers.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, government, or defense-related software systems.
The total package:
- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $80,000 - $165,000.
