2ND SHIFT POSITION - 5PM to 1AM

Job Summary 

The Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of test solutions used in the production of electronic assemblies and systems. This role works closely with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and customer requirements while driving yield improvement and operational efficiency. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Test Development & Implementation 

  • Design, develop, and maintain test hardware, software, and procedures for PCBAs and finished electronic products 

  • Define test strategies including ICT, FVT, AOI, AXI, and system-level testing 

  • Develop and validate test programs using platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, or other ATE systems 

  • Support NPI builds by creating test plans and ensuring readiness for production scaling 

  • Ensure test coverage, repeatability, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements 

 

2. Production Support & Troubleshooting 

  • Provide direct support to manufacturing lines to minimize downtime and improve throughput 

  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and yield issues 

  • Troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, and product failures (hardware/software) 

  • Drive corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods (8D, QRQC) 

  • Reduce false failures and intermittent issues impacting production

 

3. Data Analysis & Yield Improvement 

  • Analyze test data to identify trends, failure modes, and systemic issues 

  • Drive yield improvement initiatives and reduce scrap/rework 

  • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate test performance and KPIs 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product design for testability (DFT) 

 

4. Test Equipment & Fixture Engineering 

  • Design or support development of test fixtures, interfaces, and automation solutions 

  • Oversee installation, qualification, and calibration of test equipment 

  • Improve uptime, reliability, and performance of testers on the production floor 

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on new test technologies 

 

5. Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Integration 

  • Drive initiatives to improve OEE, FPY, and cycle time 

  • Support cost reduction through test optimization and automation 

  • Participate in lean manufacturing and process improvement activities 

  • Ensure smooth transition from engineering builds to mass production 

 

6. Documentation & Compliance 

  • Develop and maintain test procedures, specifications, and work instructions 

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and Jabil internal standards 

  • Support audits and maintain proper documentation for traceability 

  • Adhere to all safety, ESD, and environmental requirements 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field 

  • 2+ years of experience in test engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong knowledge of: Analog and digital circuits, PCBAs and electronic system testing preferred.

  • Test instrumentation (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer) 

  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and test systems 

 

Preferred 

  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and scripting (LabVIEW, Python, TestStand)  

  • Familiarity with ICT, FVT, AOI, and manufacturing test processes (Keysight, Vitrox, KohYoung 

  • Knowledge of MES systems and data integration 

  • Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing 

  • Understanding of DFT (Design for Testability) principles

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline 

 

Work Environment 

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor support 

  • Hands-on interaction with production equipment and test systems 

  • May require supporting multiple shifts or urgent production escalations
