Test Engineer

Job Description

Join our team at Strategic Sight Consulting LLC for an opportunity as a Test Engineer – Integration, Test, and Documentation supporting critical national security missions. The selected individual will support the integration, verification, testing, documentation, and delivery of advanced technical systems. You will coordinate across hardware, software, firmware, systems engineering, and test teams to ensure complex systems are properly integrated, tested, documented, and prepared for operational use.

Responsibilities and Background

• Support system integration, verification, validation, testing, and delivery activities for complex hardware and software systems.
• Develop, coordinate, maintain, and execute integration plans, test plans, test procedures, and system-level verification activities.
• Coordinate technical activities across software, hardware, firmware, systems engineering, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support system-level verification and validation activities to ensure technical requirements are properly addressed and documented.
• Track system requirements, technical issues, integration dependencies, risks, corrective actions, and other engineering activities through resolution.
• Maintain technical documentation describing system architecture, interfaces, configurations, requirements, and test results.
• Capture and maintain system configurations and interface information throughout integration and test activities.
• Support the identification, documentation, investigation, and resolution of hardware, software, firmware, and system integration issues.
• Develop clear and accurate engineering, technical, and operational documentation.
• Translate complex engineering and technical information into user-facing documentation, including operating procedures, installation guides, user manuals, and training materials.
• Support requirements management, configuration management, and verification and validation processes.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical documentation accurately reflects system capabilities, configurations, interfaces, and operational procedures.
• Support system acceptance, functional, regression, and field testing activities, as required.
• Assist with development and maintenance of interface control documents, system specifications, test reports, and release documentation.
• Work with technical teams and end users to capture system feedback and support improvements to system usability and documentation.
  

Requirements

• Current and Active
  TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Experience supporting systems engineering, system integration, or technical testing activities for complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience developing and managing integration plans, test plans, test procedures, and verification activities.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical activities across software, hardware, firmware, and other engineering disciplines.
• Experience documenting system architecture, interfaces, configurations, requirements, and test results.
• Experience tracking technical issues, integration dependencies, risks, and corrective actions through resolution.
• Strong technical writing skills with experience developing clear engineering and operational documentation.
• Ability to translate engineering information into user manuals, operating procedures, installation guides, training materials, or similar user-facing documentation.
• Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, and verification/validation processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams in complex technical environments.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting UAS, robotics, embedded systems, communications systems, sensor systems, or other integrated technical platforms.
• Experience managing hardware/software integration in laboratory, prototype, or rapid-development environments.
• Familiarity with requirements traceability and systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Jira, Confluence, Cameo, or similar tools.
• Experience planning and executing system-level acceptance, functional, regression, or field testing.
• Experience developing interface control documents, system specifications, test reports, and release documentation.
• Familiarity with configuration baselines, version control, change management, and release processes.
• Experience working directly with end users to capture feedback and improve system usability and supporting documentation.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
• Experience supporting rapid system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation in mission-focused or defense-related environments.
