Systems Test Engineer, Rotational Engineering Program

College Graduate – Rotational Engineering Program (REP) - start date July 2027 in Torrance, CA

Mercury Systems is seeking a recent college graduate to join our Rotational Engineering Program, a dynamic opportunity to develop cutting–edge technology that supports the American Warfighter. As a Verification & Test REP Engineer, you'll join a collaborative integration, verification & test team focused on test efforts in developing and executing avionic systems for mission critical aerospace and defense applications. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring product reliability, performance, and security across the full engineering lifecycle from concept to sustainment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop Verification Test plans and procedures based on product requirements and engineering specifications
• Execute Verification across multiple hardware products, ensuring thorough validation of functionality, performance, and reliability
• Document test results, identify defects, and work with cross‑functional engineering teams to drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by transferring products from engineering development to production, including creating test documentation, training, and troubleshooting guidance
• Provide ongoing debug support for products in production, resolving issues related to test failures, hardware behavior, or process gaps
• Maintain and improve test processes, tools, and fixtures to enhance test coverage and efficiency
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure a smooth product lifecycle from development through release

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field obtained between May 2026 and June 2027
• A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process

• Prior Co-Op or internship experience

• Foundational understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and board‑level hardware
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and engineering requirements
• Experience using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators)
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to develop clear, concise test plans, procedures, and documentation
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands‑on experience performing board‑level DVT, functional testing, or hardware validation
• Familiarity with hardware bring‑up, failure analysis, or component‑level debugging
• Experience supporting product transfer from engineering to production environments
• Knowledge of automated test systems or scripting languages (Python, LabVIEW, etc.)
• Understanding of manufacturing test processes or production line workflows
• Exposure to reliability testing, environmental stress screening (ESS), or similar engineering test methodologies
