The Role

Andersen is seeking a motivated Senior Associate to join our Technology team as a System Administrator. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the firm’s core infrastructure, supporting critical initiatives as we scale globally, advance our cloud modernization strategy, and integrate newly acquired firms across Andersen Tax and Andersen Consulting.

You will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation and evolution of our environment, including managing cloud migration efforts, maintaining system performance and availability, and executing structured patching and upgrade cycles across enterprise platforms. This role requires a proactive mindset, with a strong focus on monitoring, incident response, and identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, automation, and security posture.

In addition, you will serve as a key escalation point for complex technical issues and act as a mentor to junior team members, reinforcing best practices in system administration, documentation, and operational discipline. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence infrastructure stability, scalability, and security within a fast-paced environment where your technical decisions have firmwide impact.

What You’ll Do

Core Infrastructure & System Administration

  • Administer and support core Microsoft infrastructure, including Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, Windows Server platforms, and enterprise applications within a global hybrid environment.
  • Manage server lifecycle including provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning with a focus on automation and consistency.
  • Monitor system health, performance metrics, logs, and alerts using centralized tooling to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.
  • Partner with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to maintain stable, resilient operations across U.S. and international offices.
  • Maintain and improve documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures to support audit readiness and knowledge transfer.
  • Serve as an escalation resource and mentor for junior IT staff, contributing to team skill development and knowledge sharing.

Identity & Security

  • Administer identity governance including RBAC, group policy, and access controls across Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Support and contribute to security initiatives including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), endpoint monitoring, and compliance audit readiness.
  • Assist in system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and enforcement of security best practices across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Participate in security incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation planning.
  • Support the firm’s evolving Zero Trust posture as it applies to identity, device, and access management.

Cloud & Automation

  • Support Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms including tenant configuration, migrations, and ongoing optimization efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation scripts using PowerShell and Azure automation tools to reduce manual toil and improve operational consistency.
  • Assist with modernization initiatives including Microsoft Intune deployment, cloud-based endpoint management, and policy enforcement.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired firms, new office locations, and global infrastructure onboarding into the Andersen environment.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment practices where applicable.

Backup & Business Continuity

  • Administer backup and recovery platforms ensuring data protection standards are met across all critical systems.
  • Support and participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure systems meet defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) as part of the firm’s business continuity framework.
  • Validate backup integrity through periodic testing and reporting.

Collaboration & Operations

  • Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones, including counterparts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.
  • Provide operational support as part of an on-call rotation, responding to after-hours incidents and critical system events.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Contribute to firmwide technology projects, including cloud migrations, office build-outs, and platform consolidation initiatives.

The Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on system administration or infrastructure support experience in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory / Entra ID.

  • Experience with scripting and automation, with PowerShell strongly preferred.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex, multi-layered infrastructure issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and time zones.

  • Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise backup, recovery, and replication tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management practices.
