Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking System Administrators to support the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mission-critical IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will provide operational support across servers, storage, networks, operating systems, and end-user environments while ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. Opportunities are available for experienced administrators supporting enterprise environments ranging from hands-on operational support to advanced systems administration and architectural collaboration.

Key Responsibilities - SA Level 2:

  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation, configuration, and monitoring of IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for hardware, software, network, storage, and operating system issues.
  • Assist users with system access, functionality, and technical support requests.
  • Support client, server, storage, network, and mobile device environments.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain UNIX, Windows, or other applicable operating systems.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot operating system software and network components.
  • Analyze and resolve system issues while maintaining system integrity and performance.
  • Support ticket escalation processes and communicate status updates to management and customers.
  • Perform system capacity analysis, resource planning, and operational optimization.
  • Provide detailed technical analysis and recommendations for escalated issues.
  • Support dispatch operations and remain engaged through problem resolution.

Additional Responsibilities - SA Level 3:

In addition to the responsibilities above, Level 3 candidates will:

  • Support the design and integration of systems, mission architectures, and associated hardware solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of system administration interdependencies within Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments.
  • Analyze and resolve complex server, application, software integration, and infrastructure issues.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise for enterprise system administration and operational support activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) additional years of System Administrator experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Level 2: Ten (10) years of System Administrator experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Level 3: Fifteen (15) years of System Administrator experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Windows and Linux/UNIX operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting servers, storage platforms, network infrastructure, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex system, application, and integration issues.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, ticketing, and configuration management tools.
  • Experience supporting Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud, or hybrid computing environments.
  • Strong communication skills with experience interacting with technical teams, customers, and leadership.
