GENERAL PURPOSE: 
Experienced IT technical administrator that will perform infrastructure hardware and software 
support for Supply Chain Distribution Center systems. Responsible for administering, 
monitoring, and supporting hardware platforms, operating systems, and their related products 
and technologies. Focused on improving distribution center operations through participation in 
support and integration activities of Ross’ distribution and operation support systems. As a 
member of a team, this position will ensure high standards for system implementation, 
establishing documentation, standards, best practices, procedures, processes and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct Infrastructure delivery activities for capacity planning that include new Supply 
Chain facilities and expansion projects.
• Design, install, maintain, configure, secure and support hardware platforms, operating 
systems, wired/wireless network components, and related products and technologies. 
• Develop and deliver timely solutions to problems that enable the IT organization to move 
forward quickly, while ensuring that high quality of workmanship is exhibited during all 
phases of delivery
• Plan and execute performance baselines, monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning, 
including diagnosing and resolving performance issues
• Develop and provide appropriate documentation and knowledge transfer as part of the 
transition from the delivery phase to run support.
• Perform hardware/software configuration and release management. 
• Utilize productivity tools to proactively manage workload - includes time, project, and 
priority management as part of normal everyday work.
• Utilize SDLC processes to develop, present and track project activity, inclusive of 
presentations to technical and management layer associates
• Develop and deliver timely solutions to problems that enable the IT organization to move 
forward quickly, while ensuring that high quality of workmanship is exhibited during all 
phases of delivery. 
• Detailed understanding and ability to design structured cabling systems utilized in the DC 
inclusive of data/copper and fiber optic cabling and components, IDF/MDF’s, network 
switches and cross connection methodologies
• Comprehensive understanding and ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues on 
Warehouse Control System platforms (examples: Dematic conveyance, Intelligrated Tilt 
Tray, Garment on Hanger, Put To Light/Put To Voice picking, Ticketing).
• Comprehensive understanding and ability to troubleshoot hardware/software on the 
following deployed components: RF client devices, ticketing systems, label platforms, time 
keeping, backup environments and telephony systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 4-6 years of experience supporting retail systems, with at least 1 of those years in 
a complex heterogeneous computing environment supporting supply chain distribution 
systems.
• Solid understanding of retail dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment.
• Solid understanding of supply chain technology and warehouse control systems within a 
complex, highly integrated environment.
• Experience with Distribution Center/Warehouse management systems.
• Very technically competent
   o Working experience with networking topologies and wireless computing 
infrastructure
   o Working experience maintaining network systems and services, including servers, 
routers, switches, firewall, VPN, VoIP, and other IP devices
   o Working experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems
   o Working experience with Internet/Intranet technologies
   o Working experience with Data Center design/optimization and environmental 
support components
Preferred Qualifications:
• A minimum of two years of experience with backup technologies, high-end storage 
solutions (Hitachi SAN, 3PAR preferable), SCCM System Management and Event 
Management tool or related technology.
• Experience with the installation, maintenance, security, performance monitoring, 
performance tuning, and integrity of the operating system. 
• Experience with IT processes such as System Management, Patch Management, Change 
Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Problem Management, 
Business Continuity Planning, Customer Service and Vendor Relationship Management.
• Experience defining and delivering effective methodologies and process to enable a 
proactive work environment and deliver structured work that is repeatable for all Tier 1 
support individuals, or organizations. 
• Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person 
meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Job requires working at times within construction environments wearing appropriate personal 
protective gear.
Travel for business functions and site visits – approximate 25%25
This role requires full-time in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, 
meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
