Purpose of Job
The Senior Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer job has overall responsibilities for Microsoft Infrastructure at the Georga Lottery. The key technologies that this position is responsible for are Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Copilot 365 and Microsoft Azure implementation. The Senior Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer will also assist with the top level of support covering all systems deployed within the Georgia Lottery
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Act as subject matter expert in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Copilot 365, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Azure solutions.
Ensure all responsible technologies meet all security and performance mandates and policies.
Leverage the currently deployed architecture to meet business requirements and map its utilization to fully realize the potential of the architecture.
Participate and lead strategic IT planning to enhance profitability, productivity, security and efficiency throughout the company’s operations.
Assist in long term planning of Microsoft Infrastructure including development, deployment and maintenance of identified Microsoft technologies within the GLC.
Assist in the professional development of team members as directed to ensure adequate coverage of technical support within the department
Develop, maintain and execute system monitoring and performance solutions for responsible technologies that effectively report on system availability and identify notification requirements for any outages. This includes monitoring cost projections and usage within Azure.
Provide top tier application and system support and/or issue escalation when necessary.
Establish and maintain technical relationships with vendors to provide support, consulting services and solutions to the business units as needed.
Possess a strong understanding of IT architectures concerning mitigation of single points of failure, snapshot technologies, cloud connectivity, virtualization technologies (VMWare and Azure Cloud NativeVM’s) and disaster recovery options.
Provide and maintain detailed, up-to-date system documentation for Microsoft Infrastructure utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.
Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or commensurate experience required; a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior / administrator level capacity with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Azure solutions; a minimum of 7 years’ experience in providing architecture and project leadership through network management, storage infrastructure design and planning, virtual infrastructures and data center architectures; a background in systems analysis and design required; general networking knowledge of on premises and cloud architectures. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
