Position Summary
Glazer's Beer and Beverage is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, deliver, optimize, secure, and support enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, data center, and branch environments. This role serves as a senior technical lead across Microsoft technologies, networking, virtualization, identity, cloud integration, and core infrastructure services, helping ensure critical systems are current, resilient, recoverable, appropriately redundant, and aligned with company standards.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer works inclusively across the entire IT department, including Infrastructure, Service Desk, Cybersecurity, Business Systems, Applications, PMO, and IT leadership. The role shares knowledge, invites varied technical perspectives, communicates effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and helps prevent knowledge and support silos.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, selection, implementation, lifecycle management, optimization, and support of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
- Serve as a senior technical lead for Microsoft identity, cloud, security, and infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Defender, Azure, AAD Connect, SSO, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and certificate services.
- Design, deploy, secure, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, IDS/IPS, and QoS technologies, including Cisco Meraki platforms.
- Perform advanced infrastructure troubleshooting, packet analysis, root cause analysis, performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning across networks, systems, servers, applications, and cloud services.
- Own ISP and telecommunications circuit operations, including carrier relationships, installations, upgrades, renewals, outage escalation, ticket management, service-level tracking, billing validation support, failover testing, and circuit documentation.
- Administer and optimize Windows Server, VMware vSphere/ESXi, storage, backup, recovery, monitoring, redundancy, and disaster-recovery capabilities.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure and directory integrations supporting cloud IaaS and SaaS, mergers and acquisitions, tenant-to-tenant migrations, complex DNS environments, multi-forest trusts, and hybrid identity.
- Use PowerShell, PowerShell DSC, automation, and configuration-management practices to improve deployment, patching, workstation management, reporting, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity to assess risk, remediate vulnerabilities, implement security controls, and maintain secure infrastructure and application configurations.
- Support Microsoft Intune and related endpoint-management capabilities, including Autopilot, configuration policies, MFA, conditional access, and appropriate migration of on-premises Group Policies.
- Support EDI infrastructure and related platforms, including OpenText and Cleo LexiCom, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to resolve service issues.
- Partner with the PMO and stakeholders to define technical requirements, estimate effort, manage dependencies and risks, and remain accountable for project deliverables.
- Create and maintain authoritative infrastructure documentation, diagrams, procedures, standards, and troubleshooting guidance in the IT SharePoint knowledge base rather than standalone Word documents; keep content organized, searchable, accessible, current, and assigned to appropriate owners and review cycles.
- Promote inclusive collaboration across the IT department by mentoring others, sharing context and knowledge, welcoming diverse viewpoints, involving impacted support teams early, and making support information available beyond individual roles or teams.
- Follow change-management and IT Service Management practices and respond to infrastructure incidents, escalations, service requests, and problems, including participation in a shared off-hours on-call rotation.
- Provide guidance on Enterprise DR/BC practices. Knowledge of Synology and VEEAM or similar backup solutions required.
- Travel to branch locations as needed for infrastructure refreshes, circuit installations, wireless improvements, acquisitions, and production-impacting issues.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in infrastructure, network, or systems engineering within complex enterprise environments.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting large-scale, multi-site infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Experience leading or materially contributing to infrastructure migrations, acquisitions, cloud integrations, and cross-functional projects.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft, Azure, VMware, ITIL, or comparable credentials are preferred.
Required Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI model, routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, spanning-tree technologies, SD-WAN, QoS, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and enterprise wireless networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki and working knowledge of Cisco CLI, Aruba, or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft identity and infrastructure services, Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Azure and/or AWS, and hybrid identity integrations.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and infrastructure automation, with PowerShell DSC or comparable configuration-management experience preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance analysis, capacity planning, ISP/carrier operations, and service failover.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Defender, MFA, conditional access, and endpoint configuration policies.
- Experience publishing and administering technical content in a SharePoint-based knowledge base, including page organization, metadata, searchability, permissions awareness, ownership, and content review.
Professional Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Inclusive and collaborative working style that builds trust across IT, values different perspectives, supports knowledge transfer, and enables others to support the environment effectively.
- Strong judgment, ownership, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing operational and project demands while working independently, maintaining transparency, and remaining accountable for deliverables.
- Working knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management practices, with sensitivity to security, compliance, operational continuity, and business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud networking, network automation, tenant-to-tenant migrations, and extending Active Directory services to Azure or AWS.
- Experience creating and maintaining network and infrastructure diagrams in Microsoft Visio or a comparable tool.
- Experience with SQL Server, EDI platforms, mergers and acquisitions, or multi-site infrastructure standardization.
