Software QA Engineer

Meet the Team:

As a key member of the Commerce Engineering team, you will report to a manager within the Cisco Commerce organization, collaborating with an elite group of engineers and IT leaders. Work in an environment where AI-Native engineering is at the forefront, partnering closely with our business stakeholders, Cisco Sellers, and global partners to build the future of our commerce platform. You will have the rare opportunity to directly influence the architectural decisions of one of the industry's most sophisticated cloud-native commerce platforms. By working at the intersection of sophisticated business logic and innovative technology, you will lead transformation efforts, drive innovation across teams, and ensure our platforms maintain the unmatched performance and reliability required for an outstanding customer experience.

Your Impact:

At Cisco, we are redefining the way the world connects—and our Commerce platform is the engine that powers that transformation. We are looking for a visionary Software Test Engineer to join our Commerce IT team, where "Quality" is no longer just a checkpoint—it is an AI-Native Engineering. You are a builder at heart who thrives with solving sophisticated challenges and is eager to pioneer AI-driven quality practices. You view testing as a software engineering discipline, not a manual task.

• You won't just run tests; you will architect the next generation of autonomous, AI-driven test orchestration.
• Work on one of the most sophisticated cloud-native commerce platforms in the industry, directly influencing the Quote/Order booking experiences for our global sellers and customers.
• Integrate AI-augmented development, predictive analytics, and modern automation frameworks (Playwright, Karate, Selenium) into the core of our CI/CD lifecycle.
• Partner with global IT leaders and product teams to translate complex business needs into resilient, high-performance solutions that have a real-world impact.
• Join a team that celebrates diversity, values creativity, and encourages "dreamers and doers" to challenge the status quo.
• If you are a builder at heart, passionate about employing AI to redefine quality, and eager to solve complex problems that keep the world connected, we want you on our team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• Practical experience employing AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cloude) for code generation, test case script creation, and automated bug triage.
• Deep expertise in modern frameworks such as Playwright, Karate, and Selenium. Consistent track record to architect and scale end-to-end testing for complex microservices and APIs.
• Familiarity with full-stack web architectures; hands-on experience with databases, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles to integrate testing into a cloud-native delivery model.
• Expertise in using AI/ML-based observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK) to perform predictive root cause analysis and identify configuration bottlenecks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven ability to drive QA in an Agile environment, with the flexibility to adapt test plans to rapid design changes and shifting business requirements.
• Ability to perform sophisticated data mining for test validation and a passion for optimizing system performance and scale.
• Ability to translate sophisticated business needs (e.g., Quote/Order booking processes) into technical test solutions that solve real-world problems at scale.
• A collaborative attitude that actively promotes a culture of innovation, mentoring team members on AI-augmented workflows, and encouraging a positive, "fun" engineering culture.
