Our Mission
Healthie is an AI-Native, ONC Certified EHR for modern outpatient healthcare.
Healthie is proud to power clinically excellent healthcare for over 40,000 providers who deliver clinically excellent healthcare - longitudinal and collaboratively, with patient and provider experiences at the center. Both healthcare and technology are undergoing unparalleled industry innovation, and it’s incredible to see the momentum - from consumers, from providers, and from reimbursement for this type of healthcare - grow exponentially.
We provide the powerful infrastructure every care delivery organization needs. On the surface this includes EHR, Scheduling, Engagement, Billing, Data, and much more. Underneath the iceberg are thousands of configurations, settings, widgets, automations, and limitless capabilities because we are an API-first platform. Our fully brandable platform makes it easy for clinics and organizations of any size to scale and never reach a limit.
Today, over 3 billion API calls are made to Healthie every month, as thousands of organizations who work with more than 21 million patients in total, rely on Healthie to deliver clinically excellent healthcare in over 35 specialties, from behavioral healthcare to complex chronic care management and personalized medicine.
We believe in the power of technology to improve access to healthcare and we’re building the rails that make this a reality. We work fast and with quality because we provide business-critical, healthcare-critical software that clinicians and patients need for a better healthcare system. We’re customer-obsessed, operate with lightning-fast processes and responses, and always share our product roadmap publicly- so customers can see what we’re building, and remain relentlessly focused on how care gets delivered.
Healthie is backed by leading investors, and while we've $42M raised to date, more importantly, we operate with fiscal responsibility and have been profitable for more than half of our time as a company. We know that building an ONC-Certified EHR is a lifetime’s body of work, and we are here to build for our customers forever.

About the role
We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a strong, collaborative QA team at Healthie. You'll bring deep expertise and fresh thinking that helps the whole team grow. This isn't a role where you maintain the status quo; you'll have a real impact on how we build and ship software as our products grow.
We want someone who is exceptional at testing: sharp enough to learn a complex product fast, curious enough to find what others miss, and empathetic enough to always be thinking about the people on the other side of the screen. AI tools are a core part of how we work, and we expect you to use them fluently but pragmatically, with the expertise and judgment to know what good looks like.
You'll work alongside a talented team of QA engineers, contributing to testing strategy and collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across a large, complex EHR platform. Where AI-powered products are in scope, you'll bring the same rigor you apply everywhere else.
At Healthie, we are AI-enabled and AI-accelerated in how we build. We are looking for team members who actively leverage AI-powered development tools, embrace automation, and help teams adopt modern, AI-assisted engineering practices to increase velocity and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans for web applications and APIs across a large, complex EHR platform, applying judgment about where manual coverage matters most and where automation earns its keep.
- Build and maintain test automation using Playwright, contributing to a growing suite of reliable, maintainable tests.
- Perform thorough API testing using tools like Postman to validate backend services and data flows.
- Approach every test with the customer in mind, acting as a proxy for the people who rely on Healthie every day and advocating for their experience.
- Get up to speed on new product areas quickly, developing a critical eye for how things should work and where they are likely to break.
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams throughout the development lifecycle to catch issues early and uphold quality standards.
- Document defects with clear, detailed reproduction steps, especially for complex or non-deterministic workflows.
- Use AI tools pragmatically to accelerate your work, including test case generation, edge case discovery, code writing, and documentation, while owning the output critically.
- Contribute to QA process improvements and help the team adopt better testing patterns over time.
About you
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a track record of finding bugs others miss and building test coverage that holds up over time.
- Deep customer empathy; you think about real users as you test, act as their proxy, and advocate for their experience when something feels off.
- Exceptional testing instincts, with a natural ability to identify edge cases, think adversarially, and dig until you understand a failure completely.
- Fast product learner; you get up to speed on new features and domains quickly and approach them with a critical, questioning eye.
- Strong sense of when enough is enough; you use experience and context to make confident calls about coverage, balancing thoroughness with the pace of a fast-moving team.
- Technically fluent across the stack: solid API testing skills, strong working knowledge of GraphQL, comfortable reading logs and digging into a codebase when a bug needs it. Ruby and TypeScript familiarity is a plus.
- Comfortable with Playwright and test automation, and fluent with AI tools for generating tests, surfacing edge cases, and moving faster without sacrificing judgment.
- Strong communicator who works well across engineering, product, and clinical stakeholders; healthcare or regulated industry experience is a meaningful plus.
Bonus Points
- Experience configuring testing and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and release process tooling.
- Experience testing AI/ML systems, NLP outputs, transcription accuracy, or other probabilistic models.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and how they apply to PHI handling in software.
- Familiarity with Claude Code or other agentic coding tools.
