OUC - The Reliable One, is presently seeking a Senior Operational Technology Network Engineer to join the Trans,Substation & Sys Protect division. At OUC, we don’t just work – we’re building a bright future of innovation and transformation for future generations.
We are looking for a highly skilled, solutions‑driven network professional who excels in maintaining and enhancing mission‑critical operational network infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in complex environments, takes ownership of network reliability, and enjoys diagnosing and resolving technical challenges while collaborating across teams to ensure continuity and performance.
In this role, you will design, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize OUC’s operational network environment. You will configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems; lead network projects; recommend technology improvements; and ensure secure, dependable network operations that support OUC’s essential utility services. Because this position centers on the operational network, experience working in high‑availability, critical‑infrastructure environments is especially important.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related discipline from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience may be substitutable on a 1:1 basis;
- Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in an Information Technology network environment;
- Above to include a minimum of three (3) years of experience managing networks (MPLS preferred); trouble-shooting wired and wireless networks, configuring switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, working on network related projects and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with public or government cloud network environments.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP.
- Experience working in NERC/CIP‑regulated environments.
- Experience with both Cisco and Fortinet network equipment.

Salary Range: $108,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually commensurate with experience

Job Purpose: Ensures resilient and reliable 24/7 support for OUC’s corporate network health and operations including applications, databases, and OUC customers. Tests network equipment changes. Monitors and trouble-shoots the network. Identifies end of life/end of support equipment in advance and recommends new models. Configures and installs switches, firewalls, and routers. Manages network related projects, budgets and stakeholders. Primary Functions:
