Why your role matters

As a Senior Network Engineer at i3D.net, you’ll be hands-on in building and supporting a global network infrastructure from our office in Atlanta, that spans both service provider backbone and high-performance datacenter environments. You’ll work with Juniper hardware, automation tools like Ansible, and smart monitoring platforms like Kentik to keep traffic flowing smoothly worldwide. You’ll be part of a 20-person team that values doing things right - automated, secure, and always evolving.

What you’ll be doing

  • Implementation: Deploy and maintain network configurations using automation tools like Ansible and Netbox.

  • Operations: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across backbone and datacenter environments, from hardware to protocol layers.

  • Monitoring & Capacity: Use tools like Kentik to monitor traffic, identify bottlenecks, and assist in capacity planning.

  • Documentation: Keep network documentation and diagrams up to date for operational clarity and team alignment.

  • Security: Support DDoS mitigation and help enforce network security policies and practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, product teams, and other engineers to support network projects and customer requirements.

  • Automation: Assist in automating network tasks and workflows to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.

  • Customer Support: Working in an on-call rotation, collaborating with senior engineers on customer escalations and delivering expert-level troubleshooting when needed.

  • DCI: ADVA & Adtran DWDM, Coherent Optics, metro connectivity.

  • Security: Custom DDoS mitigation, traffic filtering, and threat detection.

What success looks like in the first year

  • You have successfully contributed to network upgrades and datacenter expansions in close collaboration with one of our network architects.

  • You’ve contributed to a better automation framework that improves delivery speed and reliability.

  • You’re a trusted go-to for technical input in both datacenter and backbone projects.

  • Your ideas and improvements have been adopted by peers and documented for others to build on.

  • You’ve helped make the team stronger through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and hands-on support.

About You:

  • Experience: 5–7 years in network engineering, preferably in ISP or datacenter environments.

  • Network Skills: Solid knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN-VXLAN, and MPLS; hands-on with Juniper hardware.

  • Automation: Experience using Ansible and Python for network changes and small-scale automation tasks.

  • Tooling: Expert at using Netbox and comfortable writing, improving and maintaining scripts, and traffic monitoring tools like Kentik and Grafana

  • Troubleshooting: You’re methodical in solving hardware and routing issues, from cable to config.

  • Linux Knowledge: Confident working in Linux environments for troubleshooting and scripting.

  • Broader Tech Insight: Familiar with storage, virtualization, and cloud fundamentals.

  • Communication: Fluent in English, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to others.

  • Certifications: JNCIP-SP, JNCIP-DC, or similar mid-level certifications are a plus;

  • Remote vs Onsite: This is a hybrid position with onsite work required at our Atlanta office (2 days a week). You are either based near Atlanta or open to relocating, and we can support your move. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Why join us?

  • Skill Development: Level up with career guidance and education reimbursement.

  • Gaming Perks: Get lifetime access to Ubisoft’s game library and two free games every year.
