JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is searching for a Senior Network Engineer to support one of the foundational networks in the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) family of systems. JEXC2 systems are made up of various command, control, communications, computers and intelligence subsystems and networks, including associated infrastructure and communications equipment.
Work will be performed onsite in Panama City Beach, FL. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.
This role is responsible for advanced support, design input, troubleshooting, and operational ownership of the enterprise network infrastructure. The senior network engineer serves as the final escalation point for complex incidents and problems, collaborates closely with architecture and security teams, and provides mentoring to Tier 1 & Tier 2 engineers.
JOB DUTIES:
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation for critical network issues across routing, switching, firewalling, load balancing, and virtualization platforms.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex network and security problems across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
- Support and maintain enterprise-class routing and switching infrastructure using Cisco platforms (IOS / IOS-XE / NX-OS).
- Manage and support Palo Alto firewall environments and security policies; assist in design and optimization of firewall rule sets and segmentation strategy.
- Administer and maintain VMware NSX-T network virtualization, distributed firewalling, and overlay networking.
- Manage and support F5 load balancers including VIP configuration, SSL termination, health monitors, and traffic management policies.
- Support design and implementation of VPN technologies, including IPsec site-to-site, remote access VPN, and certificate-based authentication.
- Understand, support, and troubleshoot encryption devices used within WAN architecture (e.g., IPsec encryptors, inline encryption appliances, tunneling strategies).
- Assist with BGP-based WAN and data center routing architecture and perform route optimization and policy-based control.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members.
