Colville Inc. is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior IT Specialist to support and enhance a brand-new internal IT and Cyber Security program. What You’ll Do
In this role, you will play a critical part in managing, securing, and optimizing Colville’s IT environment across multiple locations. Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing user accounts and access to system resources including Microsoft, Oracle, SAGE, Eagle POS, and Epicor systems
• Supporting and maintaining operating systems and core application environments
• Installing, maintaining, and optimizing servers, backups, switches, access points, and firewalls
• Managing hardware and software licensing needs and ensuring compliance
• Providing help desk support as needed and rapidly triaging user issues
• Monitoring and maintaining enterprise systems across network, endpoint, and cloud environments
• Identifying, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats using tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, NAC, and IDPS
• Applying and coordinating security patches while minimizing operational impact
• Supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
• Troubleshooting and maintaining network infrastructure including firewalls and VPNs
• Managing and supporting networked storage systems
• Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to support operational needs
• Assisting in evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve system performance and security
• Traveling occasionally to Colville locations including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Prudhoe Bay, and Valdez
What You Bring
We are looking for a highly capable IT professional who brings both technical depth and a proactive mindset:
• 5 plus years of senior level systems administration experience solving complex technical challenges
• Strong experience with virtual environments and cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with Windows based environments, Epicor, and Oracle systems
• Familiarity with infrastructure hardware such as servers, UPS systems, and Fortinet devices
• Working knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and configuration
• Experience managing and troubleshooting storage systems
• Strong ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions aligned with best practices
• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments and diverse user groups
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams and locations
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with scripting, version control, and backup of technical work products
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
• A professional, team oriented approach with a focus on reliability and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Windows Server administration
• Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator
