About the Role:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer based in North Carolina within the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products meet rigorous quality standards and comply with industry regulations. Your primary focus will be on developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and supply chain to identify quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. By analyzing data and conducting thorough inspections and audits, you will help prevent defects and reduce waste, contributing to operational efficiency. Ultimately, your work will support the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and familiarity with industry-specific standards.
  • Proficiency in using quality tools such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to travel 10%-20%.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with automated inspection systems and quality software tools (e.g., Minitab, SAP QM).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment such as automotive, aerospace, or medical devices.
  • Advanced data analysis skills and familiarity with programming or scripting for quality data automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures tailored to manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality data and generate detailed reports to track performance metrics and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Support supplier quality management by evaluating supplier processes and conducting supplier audits to ensure material quality.
  • Train and mentor production staff on quality standards and best practices to foster a culture of quality awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

In this role, your technical skills will be essential for designing and executing quality assurance tests and inspections that ensure product integrity. Analytical skills will be used daily to interpret quality data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights that drive process improvements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with production teams, suppliers, and management to resolve quality issues and implement best practices. Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory standards will guide your compliance efforts and documentation processes. Additionally, proficiency with quality software and statistical tools will support your ability to automate data collection and reporting, enhancing overall efficiency and accuracy.
