SUMMARY:
The successful Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing the Company’s QA systems, customer quality expectations, internal/external and regulatory quality compliance.
What you’ll do
- Work collaboratively with the Quality Department to enhance and maintain our quality system
- Work with Engineers/Project Managers to establish work order instructions
- Use various gauges such as micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, scales, surface finish gauge, and other precision equipment as required for inspections and troubleshooting
- Maintains calibration of gauges and tooling
- Ensure corrective actions (NCR and EPCAR) are properly generated and effectively closed
- Ensure document and record controls are maintained
- Identify and implement continuous process improvement activities
- Contact suppliers and providers for the best priced tooling quotes
- Confirming and documenting rework summaries, procedures, and identifying trends within rework
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining our ISO certification and performing the required training and yearly external quality inspection.
What you’ll need:
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- ISO 9001
- Ability to measure close tolerances
- High school diploma
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail
- Analytic skills
- Hand/eye coordination
- Ability to handle multiple assignments during the workday
- Ability to effectively present information and write reports to a variety of audiences
